Dear Simon Fraser Families: 

Next week is a short week as we have Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday and Friday. Just a reminder that Friday is a non-instructional day for students.  We have invited the YYC Food Trucks for the evening of  November 23.  We hope this will help to support our parents on a busy evening.   The food trucks will be at the school from 4:30 - 7:30. We hope you can get a bite to eat and enjoy some down time between or after your conferences at our feeder schools!

• Friday, November 24 – Non-Instructional Day (No School for students) 
• Friday, November 24 – Parent-Teacher Conferences - Online 9:00am-1:00pm 

School Conferences

School Conference bookings are now open. School Conferences are in person Thursday evening from 4:00-8:00pm and Friday online from 9:00am-1:00pm. If you have not done so already, please login into your MyCBE account to book your conferences. Click on the purple icon – Book and Manage Meeting Times. Grade 5 & 6 are 15-minute intervals & Grade 7-9 are 10-min intervals. If you are unable to make any of the organized times work, please contact your child's teacher directly and set up another time to connect.

Artisan Fair

Please visit our Student Artisan Fair in the cafeteria during Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences on Thursday night between 4pm -7:30pm. Our talented students will be selling a variety of homemade crafts and baked goods, so please bring cash. 

Transportation 

Fenton Bus Lines has a bus app to help families monitor their child’s bus route. The app is called “Bus Status 4” which is a new version of the app families will need to download. Download the app and select “Fenton Bus Lines.”  This company is responsible for route K.  All other routes are handled by Southland, please refer to www.myschoolbusmonitor.com every morning to make sure your child(ren)’s bus is on time and has no delays. If you do not remember your child’s bus letter, you can look on your MyCBE account --> Bus Routes and stops, Route. 

Movie Night - ELF

We are excited to announce the first Simon Fraser Movie Night on Thursday, Nov. 30, 6:00-8:00pm! We will be watching the holiday classic ELF! Please bring a small cash donation to attend ($5.00, payable at the door.) We will also be selling snacks such as chips, popcorn, candy, juice, etc. All proceeds from this evening will go towards our Holiday Hampers Campaign. Hope to see you all there! 

School Council

Monday November 20 is our next school council meeting.  We will be meeting in the Simon Fraser Learning Commons in person and will have an the option for families to join virtually.  We hope families will consider jioning us!
