First Day of Classes
Welcome to Simon Fraser School! We are excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year and look forward to an engaging and successful journey ahead. Please review the information below to help your family prepare for a great start.
The first day of classes for students is Monday, August 31, 2026.
- Grade 6 students may enter through the main entrance and proceed directly to their homeroom.
- Grades 7–9 students should enter through the second-floor east entrance and go directly to their homeroom.
Office Hours
The school office is open to parents/guardians during the following dates/times:
- Tuesday, August 25, 2026: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 26, 2026: 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm
- Thursday August 27, 2026: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
- Friday August 28, 2026: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm

Teacher Assignments & Class Placement
Teachers will email families on Thursday, August 27, 2026, in the afternoon to welcome students and share classroom information.
Class lists have been carefully finalized. Our staff, in collaboration with feeder schools, worked thoughtfully to create balanced and supportive learning environments for all students. We appreciate the input families provided in the spring, which was considered alongside professional judgment and knowledge of student needs.
Please note that requests for class placement changes will not be accommodated. We appreciate your understanding and trust in this process.
Supply List
Supplies for students in grade 6 are provided by the school.
Grade 7 to 9 students are responsible for bringing required supplies to school. A recommended supply list can be found below.
MyCBE Account Information
Parents/guardians and students are required to create a MyCBE account and add their child(ren) if they have not already done so. This account allows you to:
- Access program information (attendance, report cards, assessments)
- View student learning through PowerSchool
- Pay fees and request waivers
- Register for transportation and lunch supervision
- Book parent-teacher conferences
- Complete online school forms
To set up your account, you will need:
- The email address on file with the school
- Your child’s CBE ID, available in the SchoolEngage student profile

All students should bring proper indoor PE shoes. Having appropriate footwear helps ensure that all students can safely and actively participate in PE classes.
