Dear Simon Fraser Families,
We are looking forward to beginning the tours and transitions of our incoming grade 5 and grade 7 students in the coming weeks. Also, Simon Fraser’s My World Day on April 25th will have our students giving back to the community and visiting our community schools. Spring is here!
Here are a few reminders and updates for this next week:
- April 17 – Spring Picture Day
 - April 19 – Non-Instructional Day System Professional Learning

Complementary Course Selection
This week our grade 6 and 7 students began selecting their choices for their option classes next year. The grade 8 students will do this in class next week. As part of this process, we have families review complementary course selections after students have a chance to do the registration at school.
We are asking families to go into their MyCBE accounts to review the course selections before the selection system closes on Wednesday April 24th. Grade 8 parents, please wait until Thursday April 18th to start reviewing the choices to give the students a chance to get their registration started at school. The course description documents will be emailed to families by grade.
School Council
Please join us on Monday April 15 at 6:30 in the learning commons at Simon Fraser School for our next in-person council meeting. There will also be the option to join online. This school council meeting we will be discussing a potential change to the CTF (Career and Technology Foundations) and French programming for our Grade 5 and 6 students for the 2024-25 school year. Hope families will be available to join us.

System Professional Learning Day
On Friday April 19, all Calgary Board of Education staff can attend sessions across the system to support Simon Fraser’s school development plan and the CBE’s Education Plan.
My World Day
As we approach "My World Day" on Thursday, April 25, let's come together to support a family in need within our school community. Your generosity through Walmart gift cards, in any denomination, will make a difference. Donations will be accepted at the front office until April 26. We're always grateful for the kindness and compassion shown by Simon Fraser families. Thank you for your support!
Have wonderful weekend with as a family!  We look forward to welcoming your children back for a four day week of learning next week!
