Please remember that all orders must be submitted by the Friday deadline of the week prior.
Inform| Terry Fox Run
As part of our Terry Fox Run initiative, we are collecting Toonies for Terry to support cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation.
We encourage students to bring a toonie or any donation they wish to contribute. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn about compassion, perseverance, and giving back to their community.
Together, we can honour Terry's dream of a world without cancer.
Invite| School Council
One of the most important ways parents, guardians, and community members can make a meaningful difference in students' educational experiences is by participating in the School Council.
Under the Education Act, a School Council is a collaborative advisory body that provides input to the principal and the Calgary Board of Education (CBE) Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School Councils have legislated advisory and decision-making responsibilities as outlined in the Education Act and the School Councils Regulation.
We invite all parents, guardians, and community members to attend our first School Council meeting of the year:
Date: Monday, September 21, 2026
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Location: In person at Simon Fraser School
We look forward to working together to support student success and strengthen our school community.
Invite| Child & Youth Well-Being Family & Caregiver Series
Well-being is a precondition for student achievement. Student well-being supports learning and success. Students bring strengths, experiences, and capacities that can be nurtured through supportive relationships and inclusive learning environments. As students navigate challenges that are connected to mental health and well-being, we have an opportunity to strengthen belonging, build skills, and ensure access to responsive supports.
The CBE invites all parents and guardians to join us for a live online series focused on supporting child and youth well-being. Hosted by the Recovery Alberta Community Education Service (CES) Program in collaboration with experts from the Calgary community, this year's sessions will explore a range of timely topics.
These sessions are designed to equip families with the knowledge, tools, and strategies to navigate the challenges and opportunities of raising children and teens today.
These sessions are free and provide information, resources, helplines, and services to support healthy child and youth development.
