School Council provides an opportunity for families to learn about school initiatives, share feedback, ask questions, and collaborate with staff in supporting student success. We value the perspectives of our families and encourage all parents and guardians to participate.

Remind| Non-Instructional Day
To accommodate the provincial referendum, CBE schools have a non-instructional day on Monday, October 19th, 2026. Simon Fraser School staff will be at the school engaging in professional learning this day, and the site itself is a polling station.
Remind| Supporting Positive Online Behavior
We would like to take a moment to share an important reminder regarding social media use.
Recently, we have noticed an increase in negative interactions occurring on various social media platforms. While much of this activity takes place outside of school hours, it can have a significant impact on students' well-being and often carries over into the school day.
We encourage families to regularly monitor their child's online activity and digital accounts. For example, we have recently become aware of a fake Simon Fraser School social media account that many students are following. This account contains inappropriate content and does not represent our school. Staying informed about the platforms your child uses and how they interact with others online can go a long way in supporting safe, respectful, and responsible digital citizenship.
We would also like to remind families that most social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat, have a minimum age requirement of 13 years of age.
Thank you for your partnership in helping our students navigate the online world safely and responsibly. By working together, we can support positive online behavior and help ensure that social media remains a safe and productive space for all students.
Remind| Healthy Hunger Absences
If you know your child will be absent on a Healthy Hunger lunch or snack day and would like their order donated or available for pick-up, please contact the school office no later than 11:00 a.m.
Remind| IPP Signatures are due
Please review, sign, and send back the IPP signature sheet if this is applicable to your family. If you have questions, please reach out to your child’s homeroom teacher.
