Inform| Healthy Hunger:
Healthy Hunger is back! Our first Healthy Hunger lunch will occur on Wednesday October 2nd, 2024. Families must order by midnight tonight!
If you order a fun lunch and your child is sick/away, please call the office before 11:45 am to let us know what you would like us to do with the lunch. If we have not heard from a family, we will donate the lunch to another child who may not have one.
Reminder| Spectators at SFS Athletic Events
As our soccer and basketball seasons get underway the gym and school fields will be busy with games after school. We love having students and families at our games and encourage them to come cheer and support our athletes and teams. A couple of reminders for our students and families:
- All spectators - students and adults - are expected to cheer and support players/coaches/referees/parents/guardians in a positive and respectful way.
 - Disrespectful behaviours will be addressed by school administration promptly and may result in spectators being directed to leave the game and/or the school building.
 - Simon Fraser students are NOT allowed to spectate at any AWAY games unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students who arrive at other schools to spectate without supervision will be asked and expected to leave. The same expectations will be in place for students from other schools who come to SFS expecting to watch games – they will not be allowed to stay unless they have a parent/guardian with them.

Thank you for helping to make our athletics program a welcoming and positive experience for everyone!
Inform| OurSCHOOL Student Survey Administration
Simon Fraser School will be participating in an online school perception survey for students called the OurSCHOOL Student Survey. This anonymous survey is completely voluntary for all CBE students. Please find the details of the survey implementation below.
CBE’s Education Plan prioritizes student voice and well-being in our decision-making processes. Responses from this survey are used at the system and school level to recognize and improve what is necessary for students to feel safe, welcome, and cared for when at school.
Grades 4-12 students provide feedback on:
- sense of belonging
 - positive relationships
 - anxiety
 - feeling safe at school
 - life satisfaction
 - general health
 - orientation to well-being
 - goal-oriented
 - self-regulation
 - cultural awareness of others

Additionally, Grades 6-12 students provide feedback on:
- depression
 - self-esteem
 - cultural awareness of self

Demographic questions are also asked on this survey for norming purposes. These are:
Grades 4-12 general
- age, gender, Indigenous status, immigrant status, home language.

Grades 6-12 specific
- grade repeater, reasons for changing schools, disability or medical conditions that limits participation in school activities or learning.

- Who: All Students Grade 5-9
