Inform| School Conferences 

Parent-teacher conferences are an opportunity to engage in conversation about your child’s learning. Parents/guardians and teachers can connect face-to-face and communicate openly about student learning, especially with respect to areas of strength and areas of growth. They help build and sustain respectful relationships that allow both parties to share information and develop strategies to support student success.  

Our next round of Conferences take place during the evening of March 20 and the morning of March 21, 2025. This year the March conferences will be held online. 

Bookings open to parents on March 13 at 8am and close on March 19 at 12pm. 

Conferences are Thursday, March 20 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm and Friday, March 21 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm.  

Conferences can be booked using your MyCBE account.

Remind| Daylight Savings & Spring Break 

Daylight saving time will begin this year on Sunday, March 9, at 2 a.m. so please remember to ‘spring forward’ your clocks! 

The last day of classes before Spring Break is Thursday March 20th as Friday March 21st is a Non-Instruction Day for students. Spring Break will occur from Mar 24-28, with classes resuming Monday March 31st.  

Remind| Lunches & Snacks  

We still have numerous students coming daily for lunches and snacks exhausting our supply for students in need. Please remind your child/ren to be packing sufficient snacks and lunches to last them the whole day. Reminder: We do have a Snack Shack that runs all week, except Wednesday’s. They have many healthy snacks available for purchase.  

Remind| School Planning Survey  

We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we are asking you to share your perspectives about our school development plan, school budget and school fees. The survey can be found at this link and it closes on March 21, 2025 

Your input is important to us, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your perspectives. 

Invite| School Council 

School Council takes place March 17, 2024 at 6:30 pm. The meeting will take place online.  

Remind| School Act Section 58.1   

Your child is currently enrolled in the Alberta Education Health and Life Skills Program of Study in grades five to nine. The program aims to enable students to make well-informed, healthy choices and to develop behaviours that contribute to the wellbeing of self and others.    

Human sexuality education is offered in grade four to nine as a mandatory component of the Program of Study. Pursuant to Section 58.1(2) of the Education Act, you as a parent/guardian may request that your child be excluded from the human sexuality part of the instruction without academic penalty (see attached notice for more information). Please be aware that if you would like your child exempt from this part of Health, the applicable student exemption form must be signed and returned to your child’s PE teacher as soon as possible.  

Remind| Cultural Fair March 14 during Wellness Block 

Students are welcome to participate in the Cultural Fair. What do you do for the culture fair? It's an opportunity to: 

  • Wear cultural attire 
  • Share food—please list all ingredients clearly 
  • Share Flags, books and artwork 
  • Bring in any artifacts that represent your culture 

Please be mindful that all items should be school appropriate. All classes will have an opportunity to visit the Fair during Wellness Block!
