Dear Families,

As we approach the end of the school year, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our dedicated School Council and Music Parents Association for their incredible support and efforts throughout the year. Thanks to their commitment and fundraising, we are thrilled to share exciting updates that will benefit students and staff alike:

  • Our AV system in the gym will be upgraded over the summer, supporting future events and performances.
  • We have added a new Smart Board to our school’s technology inventory.
  • Our library is seeing improvements with new furniture and books, creating a more inviting and engaging learning space.
  • New basketball hoops have been installed, enhancing opportunities for physical activity and play.
  • And many other contributions have made a positive impact on teaching and learning across the school.

In addition, we are pleased to let families know that we have used funds from Alberta Education’s Parent Engagement Grant to purchase a variety of books for our new Parent Library. These resources are intended to support parents/guardians in navigating the journey of parenting and learning with their children. Some of the titles now available include:

  • The Anxious Generation, Jonathan Haidt
  • Raising Mentally Strong Kids, Daniel G. Amen & Charles Fay
  • The Whole Brain Child, Daniel J. Siegal & Tina Payne Bryson
  • The Teenage Brain, Frances E Jensen & Amy Ellis Nutt
  • Positive Discipline for Todays Busy (& overwhelmed) Parent, Jane Nelson
  • How to talk so kids will listen & Listen so kids will talk, Adele Faber & Elaine Mazlish
  • The Power of Showing Up, Daniel J. Siegal & Tina Payne Bryson
  • The Witness Blanket: Truth, Art, and Reconciliation, Cary Newman
  • 21 Things You May Not Know About the Indian Act: Helping Canadians make Reconciliation with Indigenous Peoples a Reality, Bob Joseph
  • True Reconciliation: How to be a force of change, Jody-Wilson Raybould

We are adding more to this list and will be following up with more information on how these titles will be available for parent use in the fall. We look forward to families accessing these titles and engaging with these valuable resources.

Once again, thank you to our School Council and parent community for all your support - your contributions truly make a difference!
