It is shaping up to be an exciting and busy week at Simon Fraser School, filled with memorable learning experiences and special events for our students!
Our Grade 6 students will be away at Outdoor School, where they will enjoy hands-on learning, team building, and time in nature. We wish them a fantastic experience and look forward to hearing all about their adventures when they return.
Back at school, we are eagerly preparing for our annual School Production, taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday evening. These performances are always a highlight of the year, showcasing the incredible talents and hard work of our students. We hope to see many of you there supporting them!
On Thursday, our band students will be participating in a special experience at Mount Royal University (MRU). This is a wonderful opportunity for them to grow musically and perform in a new setting.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our School Council for organizing last night’s workshop for families. Your continued support and dedication to enriching our school community is greatly appreciated.
Please note that there will be no school on Friday, as it is a non-instructional day.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support. We are proud of the many opportunities our students have to learn, perform, and connect both in and outside the classroom.

Remind| Water Guns
As the weather warms up, we know thoughts turn to sunshine, recess, and apparently water fights. While we fully support fun, laughter, and staying hydrated, we need to remind families that replica weapons of any kind are not permitted at school. This includes water guns, blasters, squirters, super-soakers, and anything else that resembles a weapon (even if it promises “just a little splash”).
We’ve seen an increase in students bringing water guns to school, which has led to disruptions to learning and confusion around safety expectations. To keep our school calm, predictable, and focused on learning, water guns are not allowed on school property.
If a student brings a water gun to school, it will be confiscated and safely stored in the office. Parents/guardians are welcome to pick it up at their convenience during office hours.
