How Can Understanding Executive Functions Support Me as a Parent?

This workshop will provide an overview of executive functioning and how recognizing your child’s strengths and challenges can lead to more effective support at home. Participants will gain a practical framework for addressing common challenges, with an opportunity to focus on a specific issue relevant to their family. Participants will leave with actionable strategies that can be implemented immediately.

  • Date and Time: May 7, 2026, from 6:00–7:30 p.m.

 Request| Tissue Paper

Spring has arrived… and so has sniffle season! Our classrooms are quickly going through tissues, and we’d be grateful for donations of Kleenex if you’re able to send a box or two with your child.

Your generosity helps keep noses (and desks… and sleeves) a little cleaner. Thank you!

Update| Radon Gas Study

A radon gas study was conducted in 30 CBE schools. This year, Detectors were placed throughout the school by a “Certified Radon Professional” and left for about three months between October and March of this school year. The devices were then sent for analysis.

The CBE Indoor Environmental Quality team received the reports. The results confirm that the levels at Simon Fraser School are well within the Health Canada guideline for radon (below 200 Bq/m3) and no further action is currently required.

If you are interested in finding out more about radon, the risks of radon exposure, and steps that you can take in your home, please see “Radon: What You Need to Know” produced by the government of Canada and available here.
