Today, we acknowledged National Indigenous Peoples’ Day with a wellness activity that encouraged reflection on our responsibilities as treaty people and our relationship with the land. If your family is interested in continuing this learning at home, we invite you to explore the opportunities shared here.
It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is just one week away. It has been a pleasure to watch our students grow, learn, and develop into remarkable individuals. As we approach the final days of the school year, we hope students finish their time at Simon Fraser School in a positive way and feel prepared for their next journey... whether that is moving on to high school, transitioning to Evanston Heights School, or returning to the next grade level here at Simon Fraser School.
Inform| Staffing Updates

Inform| Last Day of School
The last day of school for the 2025–2026 school year will be Friday, June 26, 2026.
To celebrate another fantastic year, we will be hosting a Pancake Breakfast for all students and staff on this day. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our school community to come together, reflect on the year, and enjoy a special treat. We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to members of the School Council team for supporting this event.
Additionally, time has been scheduled during the day for students to collect signatures from peers and staff. Students who ordered a yearbook are encouraged to bring it for signing. Those who did not order a yearbook will be provided with a “mini-memory” sheet for signature collection.
We are kindly requesting a $2 donation per child for students who would like a mini-memory sheet.
Inform| 2026-27 Back to School Information
Information for the back-to-school plan has been posted on our school website.
Inform| Report Cards
Families will be able to view online through MyCBE student report cards on June 25th, 2026. Report cards may be viewed, downloaded, and/or printed.
Parents and Guardians can sign into MyCBE to view student information, including report cards, comments from your child’s teacher, assignments and grades, and attendance information. For best access to information, log in to the MyCBE portal instead of using the PowerSchool App.
Request| IPP Signature Sheets
Families of students with IPPs, please sign and return the sheet as soon as possible. If it suits your needs, snap a picture of the signed sheet and email it to lojohnson@cbe.ab.ca. Check this off your list today!
Remind| Lost & Found
There is quite a collection of clothing, water bottles, lunch bags, etc. Please encourage your student to take a look and pick up any items that belong to them. Items not picked up by Tuesday will be donated.
Remind| Extended Leaves
Simon Fraser School does not encourage extended absences for students during the school year. If families decide to take students out of school for longer than one week, an Extended Leave Form (available at the office) must be completed PRIOR to the absence.
In addition, if we are unable to determine a student's attendance in the first week of school, their place at Simon Fraser School is not guaranteed. If you have any questions about extended absences, please contact the school office.
Remind| School Fees are Due
This is a reminder to please pay your school fees in MyCBE. The school has already paid the vendors for past field trips and now we are waiting for families to pay their fees to cover these costs. We request that all families pay outstanding fees so that we can continue offering these valuable learning opportunities to our students.
Parents/guardians are welcome to come to the office to pay fees in person or online. Please call the school office if you need any support.
