Remind| Complementary Course Registration
Students who are returning to Simon Fraser for the 2026-27 are reminded to complete course requests through MyCBE. As part of this process, we ask families to review the choices together and complete the Complementary Course Request online at home. The window to complete this work closes on Friday, April 24, 2026.
Remind| Plans for Next Year
As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, we are requesting your assistance to ensure our enrolment information is accurate.
If you are a Brentwood family, or a current Evanston family with a student entering Grade 9 next year, and you are moving or planning not to attend our school next year, please notify the school as soon as possible.
This information is essential for staffing, programming, and class organization for the upcoming year. If you anticipate a change, even if details are not yet final, we would appreciate hearing from you.
Please contact the school office at your earliest convenience with any questions or updates.

Request| Transition Planning
As we begin planning for the 2026–27 school year, we want to acknowledge the importance of children having varied learning experiences with a range of peers and teaching styles. In most cases, making a specific placement request is not necessary and not usually in the best interest of the student, as it may limit these valuable growth opportunities.
That said, we understand there may be circumstances where families feel it is important to share information that could support their child’s success next year. While we do our best to consider parent/guardian input, we cannot guarantee that all requests are honoured.
When creating class lists, our goal is to make balanced learning environments that support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. In doing so, we consider several factors, including learning needs, peer dynamics, and teacher input.
If you wish to make a classroom placement request, please keep the following in mind:
- Requests should focus on your own child’s individual learning needs (academic, social-emotional, etc.).
- Requests involving peers will only be considered if there is a demonstrated positive and productive working relationship between the students.
- Please remember that other families may have different requests, and students you mention may have different needs or placements being considered.
- All requests must be submitted using the form in the link provided. Verbal requests or emails sent to teachers, or the school office will not be considered.
- The deadline to complete the request form is Friday, May 1, 2026, by 6:00 PM. Requests submitted after this deadline will not be considered.
As we review your input, we will consider it through the lens of what is best for your child and the learning environment.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership.
